| CENTRIFUGES Drying and washing the flakes are one of the hardest steps of the recycling line. It is easier if you recycle thick flakes and flexable materials. For example washing and drying of thick flakes (2 – 3 mm) from HDPE,PP,PET bottles are easier. But when you use film material it gets harder. Generally hot air is used for last drying step. But the humidity ratio is the important part at this step. Hot air dryers consumes high energy, so drying 2% humidity rate and 10% humidity rate material with hot air makes great difference. This means that before using hot air systems you should check your line’s humidity rate. If you recycle film material you should use horizontal squeezing machine after centrifuge. We prefer using centrifuges. Firstly they are really efficient machines. They even work great on thinnest materials. Secondly they have washing effect, so they are good at washing highly contaminated materials. Also they are not very complex machines and they hardly break down and easy operated. If you use high quality centrifuges the humidity rate will reduce to 1% and lower and you need no hot air dryers. We see that the best way of dewatering rigid material is using centrifuges.
